My DIY Gift Wrap Station

Every year we accumulate so much gift wrap! Whether it be for birthdays or Christmas!

I was struggling with a place to keep all of my supplies! I was using a GIANT gift bag to hold all of the smaller gift bags and tissue paper and then just throwing the rolls of wrapping paper into the corner of the closet (which was ruining them).

Last year I decided to create my own station to house all of my wrapping supplies! I had some of the items at home already and some of them I had to purchase. Here is what I used!

Sterilite 3 Drawer Rolling Organizer

I already had one of these at home that I was not using, so I decided to repurpose it! You can purchase them at Walmart or Target, but if you can’t find one in store, here is one on Amazon!

IKEA VARIERA Plastic bag dispenser

I purchased mine directly from IKEA for $2.99, but you can also kind them online! Here is a 2 pack on Amazon, and you can find some knock-off versions as well here and here.

IKEA VARIERA Trash can

For some reason, Amazon doesn’t have this item on their website, but you can find it for $3.99 instore or online at Ikea here.

Other Materials

I used e6000 to glue everything together.

I used one of these baskets in black inside the drawers for organization!

I also used these baskets and these baskets, both in white, for organizing also!

The actual gift wrap items I purchase from Dollar Tree! I like to get gift wrap, tape, gift labels, ribbon, and bows there because they are cheap (in price)!

What I did

Using the e6000, I glued the plastic bag dispenser and the trash can to each side of the rolling organizer. To make it easier on myself, I glued one side on first, let it dry completely, and then glued the other side on!

Please note that I took the drawers out first to ensure that I didn’t get any glue on them.

Once both sides are completely done, then all that is left to do is put the drawers back and fill up the organizer!

I glued the plastic bag dispenser closer to the bottom of the rolling organizer so that it can hold the gift wrap securely. I glued the trashcan closer to the top of the organizer to hold the gift bags and smaller gift boxes.

I then added in tissue paper, gift bows, ribbon, gift tags, and some greeting cards. I also keep a pair of scissors and some scotch tape in there as well. You can organize the inside however you would like.

If you prefer to listen, here is a video I made explaining the process!

How do you store your gift wrap? I would love to know!
