My First Planner

Today I am going to show you the planner and supplies that started it all. I was using an Aquamarine Saffiano Filofax in the personal size. I took this baby with me everywhere!

I chose the personal size because it was easier to carry around while still giving me enough room to write and bring along all the necessary items that I needed.

Inside the Planner

In the front and the back of the planner, I had page lifters. I made these myself, it was super simple. These helped to ensure that the pages of my planner did not get stuck under the rings when I closed it. Let me know if you would like to see a tutorial on this.

The next thing that I had in the planner (not pictured for security reasons) was my Filofax Registration Number sheet. This was a sheet that came with my Filofax. I registered my planner on the website and added my registration number to the sheet in case my planner ever got lost. The one thing I liked about this was that for anyone that found my planner, contacted the Filofax company and returned my planner, they would receive a reward (from Filofax) and my planner would be returned to me :].

After this page, I had my first divider, also made by me. This divider was for my month’s section and then I had a second divider for my weekly section after all of my monthly view inserts.

My monthly inserts were from SewMuchCrafting on Etsy. I also used her Printed Personal Size Month on Two Pages {{SUNDAY-SATURDAY}} inserts. I chose the Sunday start option because that is what I have always been used to and what makes the most sense for me.

Monthly

My weekly inserts were from an Etsy shop called KaelisAccessories, but her shop is no longer open. They worked for the time that I had them, however, I felt more comfortable with the paper quality of the SewMuchCrafting [SMC] inserts and so I ended up purchasing her Printed Personal Size Week on Two Pages {{SUNDAY-SATURDAY}} inserts as well and swapped them out.

After the Weekly inserts, I had the Filofax personal size A – Z tabs. These were no longer for sale on the Filofax website, but I was able to purchase a set from Amazon.

I made a separate post about these tabs, so I will not bore you with all the content that I had inside of each section. Click here to learn about my A – Z tabs.

After tab Y & Z, I had another page lifter (as you saw above). Right behind the page lifter, I had a notepad tucked into the pocket, which came in the planner when I purchased it. This was being used as a brain dump for anything that came to mind throughout the day or a place to just write something down quickly. At the end of the day, I would then add these notes to the correct section of the planner.

Accessories

As far as accessories and supplies go, I used the following. My planner charm was from MyLuckyCharm on Instagram. I designed it and she made it for me (I paid of course)!

The pens I used at first were the Bic 4 Color ballpoint pens. You can still purchase these at Target and Walmart. The blue one has the colors Black, Red, Green and Blue. The green one has the colors Pink, Purple, Light Green and Light Blue. I really liked these pens because I could clip them to my pen loop and they had multiple colors for me to choose from.

I had found these bows at Michaels Crafts and purchased them. All I did was hot glue them onto paperclips that I had gotten at the Dollar Tree by my house.

I also used a ton of washi tape and stickers throughout the planner. I used the pockets a lot to carry a sheet or two that I would want or need to use in the planner for that day.

I used this planner for about a year and then I switched to a Bullet Journal. You can read all about that in this post here.

I hope you enjoyed this post! What was your very first planner?
